Membership FAQ

Why Join the LLA?

As a member, you can:

  • Connect: Meet thoughtful, multi-generational women beyond your usual circles.
  • Make an impact: Support literacy, women’s education, and the preservation of our historic home through programs and community outreach.
  • Be inspired: Enjoy author talks, arts programs, special events, and members-only gatherings in a truly unique setting.

You can participate as your time and interests allow; there is no minimum requirement for hours or committees. Come as you are, and get involved at the level that feels right for you.

Membership Options & Dues

Our membership year runs from January through December. Annual dues help maintain our historic building and support our programs.

  • Annual membership: $80
  • Half-year membership: $45 (for new members joining after July 31)
  • December special: Join in December and your dues cover that month plus the full following year (13 months total)
  • Lifetime membership: One-time payment of $1,000

Membership Benefits

  • Enjoy free parking in our members-only lot when you’re shopping or grabbing a bite downtown. (Please note: the lot isn’t available for regular weekday work parking.)
  • Park Club benefit: LLA members receive waived initiation and a reduced monthly rate through our partnership.

What Does Membership Involve?

Membership can be as simple as:

  • Attending programs and events that interest you.
  • Supporting our mission through your dues.
  • Volunteering on a committee or at events when it fits your schedule.

Many members enjoy helping with events, serving on committees, or sharing their skills, but none of this is required to join. Your presence and support already make a difference.
